How does the generator work?
In three steps. The first two you only do once; after that, each week you just pick who's playing.
- Create your group. Add players one by one or paste the list from the group chat, and Teamix finds the names.
- Rate in private. Each admin scores every player from 1 to 10 on physical, defence, attack and vision. Nobody sees anyone else's ratings; Teamix uses the average.
- Generate, vote and play. Tick this week's players, Teamix suggests several options, the group votes and an admin confirms. The match and its score are saved.
What does it take into account?
It doesn't split by a single "level". Each option is balanced on four things at once:
- All four skills. Physical, defence, attack and vision end up even on both teams, not just the total.
- Positions. Each team gets a similar mix of defenders, midfielders and attackers. A player can have more than one position.
- Goalkeepers. Up to two goalkeepers, one per team. The stronger goalkeeper goes to the weaker team.
- People who stay together. You can mark players who must be on the same team, for example because they arrive together.
Why several options instead of one?
Because there's almost always more than one fair split, and the group knows things the numbers don't. Teamix generates several different options, all balanced, so the group can choose.
The generator is deliberately not deterministic: ask again and you get another valid split. That way it isn't always the same people against the same people, and if no option convinces anyone, you ask for another.
What if the players don't have the app?
That's fine. Only the organiser needs an account. In Teamix, a group's players are names on the roster; they don't have to sign up.
To vote, share the group's public link: anyone who opens it sees the options and votes without an account. Once you confirm the teams, copy them as text and paste them into the chat.
How many players does it work for?
For games from 5-a-side to 11-a-side, including indoor five-a-side, seven-a-side and eight-a-side.
If you want to understand the method behind it, or do it by hand, we explain it in how to make balanced football teams.
